Responsibilities of Editors

Editors at BRPI are entrusted with the following responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the peer-review process and ensuring fair, unbiased, and timely evaluations of manuscripts.
  • Making recommendations regarding the acceptance, revision, or rejection of submissions based on scientific merit, originality, and relevance.
  • Upholding ethical standards in publishing, including adherence to COPE guidelines and BRPI policies on research integrity.
  • Collaborating with authors, reviewers, and editorial staff to improve the quality and clarity of manuscripts.
  • Participating in editorial meetings, policy discussions, and strategic initiatives to advance the journal’s mission.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates for editorial positions possess the following qualifications:

  • Established expertise in their respective field, demonstrated through publications, citations, and professional recognition.
  • Previous editorial experience or active participation in peer review is highly desirable.
  • Strong commitment to ethical scholarly publishing, including transparency, reproducibility, and integrity.
  • Ability to manage editorial tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of communication and professionalism.

Curriculum Vitae (CV) – Highlighting publications, editorial experience, and areas of expertise.

Statement of Interest – A brief description (300–500 words) explaining why the applicant wishes to serve as an editor and their vision for contributing to BRPI.

Areas of Expertise – Keywords or subject areas relevant to editorial responsibilities.

Upon submission, applications will undergo review by the BRPI editorial leadership team. Selected candidates may be invited for a brief interview or consultation to discuss roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
